Allison Weir
Founder and Instructor
Allison Weir is a Certified Reading Specialist who founded Weir Readers in 2026. Mrs. Weir received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary & Special Education with a concentration in English Language Arts from the University of Delaware in 2011 and earned her Master’s Degree in Reading Education from William Paterson University in 2015.
Mrs. Weir is trained in the Orton-Gillingham multisensory reading approach from the Institute of Multisensory Education. Mrs. Weir has over 12 years of experience as a classroom teacher and tutor, and is a mom to two little kids in Pompton Plains, NJ. She brings her passion for reading and learning to every family she works with and believes that everyone can be a reader with the right approach!
Lauren Calamita
Orton-Gillingham Specialist
Lauren is a certified special education teacher. She has a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. She is Orton-Gillingham trained and uses a structured, multisensory approach to reading instruction that helps students develop strong foundational literacy skills. She has experience supporting diverse learners and creating individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs. Her approach is patient, supportive, and engaging. Lauren looks forward to partnering with families to help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Gabrielle Calabresi
Instructor and Tutor
Gabrielle Calabresi is an experienced elementary educator with over 10 years of elementary teaching experience. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Psychology from William Paterson University in 2014 and her Master of Science in Educational Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2019. Gabrielle is trained in Phonics First®, a structured, multisensory approach to phonics instruction, and has a strong understanding of phonics, reading comprehension, and vocabulary.
Throughout her career, Gabrielle has worked with students with a variety of learning styles and needs. She believes children learn best when they are actively engaged, encouraged, and given opportunities to learn in ways that work for them. She is passionate about literacy and enjoys using hands-on, multisensory approaches to make learning meaningful and fun. Gabrielle is committed to creating a supportive learning environment where children can build their skills, confidence, and love of reading.
